📘 Où placer l'adverbe de fréquence ?
Au présent simple, on utilise souvent des adverbes de fréquence : ils servent à modifier le sens du verbe (always, usually, often, sometimes, normally, generally, hardly ever, never...).
Phrase affirmative : toujours devant le verbe principal, mais après l'auxiliaire "to be" :
- He always stays in a hotel when he goes on holiday.
- We often go to the restaurant on Friday evenings.
- They are usually tired at the weekend.
Question ou phrase négative : l'adverbe reste devant le verbe principal (mais après l'auxiliaire) :
- Do you usually go to the restaurant on Friday?
- She doesn't often eat French fries.
- Are you sometimes late for school?
