Hello, I'm Asya. I'm Bulgarian. I'm fourteen. I come from Sofia but I'm studying in an American school in Warsaw in Poland. There are more than 20 nationalities in our school. I speak Bulgarian, of course, and Russian, English and Polish. I'm learning German and French at school. I'm in the ninth grade.
Every year we organize a Halloween party. We decorate our room and prepare scary costumes. My witch costume looks perfect this year: a short black dress with black tights, black socks, a big black hat and other accessories like a broomstick and a pumpkin. I have long brown hair. My friend Andy's costume is still in his bedroom. It's so awful. It's a vampire costume: a white shirt, a long black cape and black shoes. Anna doesn't like vampires or witches. She prefers pirates. She always wears the same short red, black and white dress with a large black belt, earrings and a black hat. Her hair is always long and blond.
Our school is great. There are a lot of activities in the afternoons. From 3 pm until 5.30 pm we can go to the clubs. Club offerings change each year but this year there are fun activities such as dancing, playing games, playing music, playing football, making jewellery, and building robots. The only thing I don't like in my school is the uniform. A school uniform! That's horrible. We have to wear it all the time except for sport. I wear a horrible grey skirt, a white blouse, a blue jacket, white socks and black shoes. The boys wear blue, grey or black trousers with a white shirt and a blue jacket. Their shoes are black. No sneakers are allowed! My friends don't like these school uniforms either.
During the holidays, we often go to Australia where my grandparents live. Did you know that Australia is the sixth largest nation after Russia, Canada, the USA and Brazil but it has a small population? I like this country so much because it's always sunny there. My favourite animals live there: the kangaroo and the koala. My grandpa is a wonderful cook. I sometimes prepare dinner with him and I like it. I have a lot of friends there. We often go to the beach together. But I don't like swimming in the ocean because I don't like sharks! We sometimes go fishing. We rarely stay at home unless we want to play on the computer.
